After successfully completing the course, students will be able to:
1. define key challenges faced by management in social sector and indicate modern theories of management and leadership
2. recognise and define key managerial knowledge and skills necessary for successful management of organisations in social sector
3. recognise and evaluate different managerial techniques and practices and apply them in the relevant context
4. analyse elements of narrow and wider business environment and adequately implement them in strategic, tactical and operational plans
5. critically reexamine ethical demands of the environment with the ability to adopt and implement ethically valid decisions and practices
After successfullly completing the course, students will be able to:
- publicly present learning outcomes orally and in writing;
- recognise various techniques and practices of management regarding property, legal form and level of complexity of an organisation;
- master team work skills;
- develop verbal and non-verbal communication skills and techniques.
The seminar grade is formed as a sum of grades realised by writing and presenting the seminar paper, with additional positive grading of activity in semina class with the maximum of 2 points. The seminar paper is graded in the following manner:
Writing seminar paper:
0 points - the paper is not written
1 point - the paper is written, but does not satisfy minimum formal criteria
2 points - there are significant flaws in the paper
3 points - the paper satisfies formal critreria, but it is insufficient in terms of content, andf the structure is inadequate
4 points - the paper satisfies formal criteria, overcomes minimum criteria, but there are smaller methodological shortcomings
5 points - the paper is formally correct, comprehensive, understandable and grammatically correct.
Presentation of the seminar paper
0 points - the paper was not presented
1 points - the paper was presented inadequately
2 points - the paper was presented well, but the topic was analysed inadequately
3 points - the paper was presented well, but there are smaller flaws in the topic analysis
4 points - the paper was presented well and the topic was analysed adequately
5 points - presentation was prepared and presented excellently
