The basic goal of the course is to acquaint students with the basic corpus of knowledge and skills from modern theory and practice of management. Students acquire knowledge from the functions of planning, organizing, human resource management, leadership and control. Also, one of the goals is the adoption of new knowledge of project management and specific knowledge of management theory in the public sector and the civil society sector.
Definition and management environment. Specifics of management of organizations from the social sector. Planning and strategic management. Organizing as a function of management. Human resource management. Leadership theories and leadership types. Motivation and communication as functions of management. Volunteer management. Financial management of non-profit organizations. Marketing management in non-profit organizations. Control as a function of management. Ethics in management.
