Ivana Dobrotić works as Assistant Professor at University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law, Department of Social Work, Social Policy Unit. Before joining the University of Zagreb, in 2003-2007 period, she worked as an expert in the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Department of Social Work. She graduated social work at University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law, Department of Social Work (Croatia) and holds a PhD in Sociology (social policy and social development) from the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences (Slovenia). She is a research associate at the CIRCLE – Centre for International Research on Care, Labour and Equalities at the University of Leeds and a member of international scientific networksInternational Network on Leave Policies and ResearchandFEWS – The Future of European Welfare Systems. She serves as a managing editor in Croatian Journal of Social Policy and an editorial board member in Review of European Studies and Annual of Social Work. She has been working as an expert or researcher on different projects related to the social policy development, family policy and gender equality for the Ministry of Social Policy and Youth, European Commission, EIGE platform, FRA - European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, Council of Europe, UNDP, UNICEF, World Bank and City of Zagreb. Her research interest lies in comparative and European social policy, and more particularly in family policies, gender equality, antidiscrimination policies, Europeanization and post-communist transformation. She has participated at several research projects dealing with various topics in social policy, international scientific conferences, and has published several scientific papers in Croatian and international journals and books.
