Ana Tokić Milaković graduated in Psychology in 2006 at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. During 2006 and 2007, she worked at the Centre for Psychodiagnostic Instruments (Department of Psychology) within the technology project entitled: “Design, development and standardization of psychological instruments” (head researcher: prof. Vladimir Kolesarić, PhD). Through the cooperation with the Office for Study Programmes and Quality Assurance (University of Zagreb) and under the direction of assoc. prof. D. Ljubotina, PhD, she participated in the preparation and implementation of the Students evaluation of lecturers' work project carried out in 2006/07, as well as in the analysis of results and preparation of reports for the University of Zagreb.
She has been employed at the Department of Social Work (Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb) since 2007. She teaches the following courses: "Introduction to Psychology", "Social Psychology", "Introduction to Psychology - Seminar" and "Social Psychology - Seminar". She has been a supervisor to many students in the preparation of their bachelor and master theses.
Since 2007, Ana Tokić Milaković participates as a researcher on the scientific project "Children, youth, family and social development in Croatia", sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology (head researcher: prof. Marina Ajduković, PhD). In the period from 2009 to 2011 she participated in the development and implementation of the scientific research project "Characteristics of families in Croatia and attitudes towards raising children and the use of repressive methods", sponsored by the former Ministry of Family, Veterans and Intergenerational Solidarity (head researcher: prof. Ninoslava Pećnik, PhD).
During September and October 2008, she was on a research visit to the University of Örebro (Sweden), Department of behavioral, social and legal sciences at the Center for Developmental Research (CDR), headed by prof. Håkan Stattin.
She actively participated in 16 international scientific conferences as well as the 2010. Summer School of EARA (European Association for Research on Adolescence) and SRA (Society for Research on Adolescence) which took place at the University of Örebro (Sweden).
She has published ten scientific papers in journals (7 cited in Current Contents) and one book (scientific monograph). She is a reviewer for scientific journals “Annual of Social work”, “Journal of Adolescence”, "Journal of Research on Adolescence" and „Journal of Family Social Work“. For her scientific achievement in 2011, she received The Annual Award for Young Scientists and Artists, granted by the Association of University Teachers and other Scientists in Zagreb.
She completed her PhD in 2014, by defending her doctoral dissertation entitled "The role of adolescents’ characteristics and parental behaviour in predicting self-disclosure to parents", at the Department of Psychology, University of Zagreb (supervisor: prof. Ninoslava Pećnik, PhD). She is currently employed as an assistant professor at the Department of Social Work (Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb).
