Description:

The aim of the course is to encourage students to rely on their previously acquired knowledge about public administration and German language and to take comparative approach to systems of public administration in German speaking countries, to research into and to report about issues of private public partnership, about functioning of e-administration in practice and to analyse selected provisions of European administrative law.

Students are expected to show productive skills in summing up key information from authentic sources in oral and written form.
One of the tasks is also translation of a given text in order to evaluate the ability to compare terminology and legal regulations in the system of public administration in Croatia and Germany.

Cognitive Skills:

compare systems of public administration in German speaking countries

report on the provisions of civil servants' law in Germany and Austria

explain the main principles of private public partnership

report on examples of good practice in e-administration

describe basic features of European administrative law

illustrate a specific segment of European administrative law, based on a specific legal regulation

Practical and Generic Skills:

develop the ability of understanding a text from a specific field of expertise in the foreign language

develop the ability of independent search for a specific text related to the administration field

organise independently information from a specific source

structure information for the purpose of presentation in a conversation or in a plenary talk

prepare independently a written summery of a specific text

Matching Assessments to Learning Outcomes:

The written exam includes well structured summing up of a text in the field of public administration.

The oral part of the exam includes summing up the information about a discussed topic in the spoken form

Translation of a given text in the oral form
