Description:

Filed placement starts with an orientation meeting where students get to know the goals, the content and possible organisations (NGO's and social care institutions) where practice take place (8 hours). After the orientation meeting, students can choose NGO or organisation, according to their preferences, they meet their practice teachers in the field and get to know the users who applied for the field placement program. During the semester,on weekly bases students have individual contacts with their users (40 hours). Users have active role participating in co-creation of weekly meetings where student has an opportunity to learn about users' needs, aspirations, services and policy of the organisation/institution. Group supervision is organised during the field placement, led by licenced supervisors (12 hours) Nakon zaključnih susreta slijedi pismena i usmena evaluacija svih sudionika terenske prakse. Students independently prepare their own example from practice for presentation in supervision and reflect it with the supervisor and members of the supervision group according to the principles of work in group supervision, integrating ethical and theoretical connections with the subject matter of the course. After practice they submit structured notes about experiences from field practice.

Cognitive Skills:

1. To gain an insight into the quality of life of the user - a disabled person

2. Recognise and define specific characteristics and obstacles encountered by disabled persons in performing everyday activities

3. Define possibilities and resources of the individual, family and environment in the satisfaction of everyday needs and realisation of rights of disabled persons

4. To gain an insight and critically evaluate the role and expectations of users from the social worker

5. To reflect on the experience of direct work with the user in field practice according to the principles of work in group supervision

 

Practical and Generic Skills:

1. develop communication skills (listening, verbal and non-verbal communication, usage of speech and written language etc.)

2. develop basic skills in establishing relations between professionals and users in direct work (defining expectations and aims, establishing contact with the user, developing relations, conclusion of the formal relation with the user)

Matching Assessments to Learning Outcomes:

Obligations of students

- Attending orientation meetings at the faculty and in associations/institutions where practical work is organised in the duration of 8 hours

- direct work with the users in an association/institution (dynamics and duration of meetings depend on the agreement between the students and users) in the duration of 40 hours

- attending supervision meetings at the faculty in the duration of 12 hours

- keeping notes about the meetings and other obligations in the form of unstructured reflection. The notes are attached to the folder.

 

Manners of testing learning outcomes and competences
