Summary of the project

The main goal of “EU Financial Markets and Regulation” (EUFMR) project is to create specialised teaching module that will enable our students to understand the complexity of the global and European post-crisis financial architecture, multi-level governance regime and the importance of stability and integration of European financial markets. We will give our students an analytical toolkit to understand latest development in the field, while also opening their professional horizon to job opportunities and careers in a sector that is currently underdeveloped in Croatia and where Croatian specialists are underrepresented at the EU level. Through domestic and international cooperation with different institutions, we are introducing new technologies and teaching methods: creating EUFMR online course on our eLearning platform.

We received truthful support from the high-level officials enabling us to empower our course with study visits to our supervisory authorities - Croatian National Bank and Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency as well as hosting the expert guest lectures from the Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE) and Zagreb Stock Exchange.

The research and public-private dialogue activities will be organized around two conferences; we will promote research in the area of European financial integration with special focus on Croatian and SEE financial integration processes, therefore enriching scholarships in this field with a region-specific focus still lacking in European economic studies.
