The aim of the course is to develop students' ability to analyze professional texts, draw conclusions and present professional content in German, apply professional terminology in speech and writing and train for independent reading of academic and scientific articles and writing abstracts in German. In this third in a series of German language courses for the social profession, students are expected to work more independently in order to develop all language skills. Within the chapter on methods of social work students analyze, first jointly, and then individually and independently, selected social projects from the Federal Republic of Germany. Marginal groups and their needs are discussed through student's participation in a simulation game of designing a living area and facilities for the needy. The forms of volunteer work in social areas are also discussed. The analysis of scientific and professional papers is a separate chapter in which students, after a joint analysis of an article, write an abstract for their own imaginary or real professional or scientific article. During the course, students are required to prepare a presentation on a chosen social topic.
