Length of course: 30 hours

 

Time and venue:

  • Lectures are held in the summer semester on Thursdays, from 9.30 a.m. until 11.00 a.m. (in case there will be less than 5 students enrolled in the course there will be no regular lectures, only consultations with competent lecturer regarding selected topic of the student paper)
  • Venue: Gunduliceva 10, lecture room no. IX (I floor).

 

Teaching methods:

  • Lectures and tutorials designed to encourage students to express their opinions.

 

Assessment:

  • The assessment of knowledge and understanding is done by oral exam or student papers at the end of semester.

 

Student papers:

Students that choose to write a student paper are expected to write 10-15 pages. Every paper should have an introduction (initial theses, explanation of the sections of the paper), content and a conclusion. Students should not copy and paste, but are encouraged to express their opinion on the subject matter. Please refer or quote correctly the legal sources and reading materials you have used. Reference to these materials should be formed in footnotes, indicating also the exact page or paragraph being referred to or quoted. At the end of the paper, a complete bibliography list must be given in alphabetical order. Please always indicate:

  • for books: author, the title of book, publisher, year of publication;
  • for article or chapter in an edited book: author, the title of the article, editor of the book, title of the edited book, publisher, year of publication, reference pages to the chapter used;
  • for articles in periodicals: author, the title of the article, title of periodical, year, volume and number of publication, and reference pages;
  • for case law: Court, case number, parties to the case and date of the judgement;
  • for materials available on the website as well as statistical or data sources: author (including corporate author, such as eg. European Commission, ILO, OECD, Eurostat), title of the publication, publication year, and website.
