This subject represents new elective course which was not offered before trough study programme of the law school. Course represents aspiration that students should be aware of the legal systems other that Continental or Anglo-American which are very well informed about. This course will enable students to understand legal systems which developed under schemes of Islamic or Jewish Laws. In todays globalized World, Republic of Croatia as a new member of the EU should be connecting point between Europe and other parts of the World, especially neighbors: Middle East and North Africa. State structure and functioning of the Government in many of those countries are firmly connected with religious legal systems in substantive, formal and ceremonial sense. Trough analysis of characteristic countries (Algeria, Iran, Israel, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Turkey) student will be aware of the influence of religion to the legal systems of respective countries. it is to hope that students will develop sense for legal and general cultural components of those countries and trough that they will develop better mutual understanding. |
