Dear Friends,

Koç University Law Club proudly presents the 11th International Students Symposium on Law and Global Issues, scheduled to take place on May 19-20-21th as online in the Zoom meeting. Save the date!

The annual Symposium, bringing together law students from all around the globe, is a highly academic platform to share our perceptions on contemporary global challenges on a very wide range of subjects. Our aim is to expand the participants’ legal perspectives on specific international law issues with seminars from respectable scholars all having extensive experience in their specialties. Join us in this Symposium and take your stance in this academic platform where together we determine the future of law! 

The main theme of this year’s Symposium will be “The Legal Aftermath of Natural Disasters”. 

Accordingly, we encourage paper proposals to address an issue suited to our main theme, with a focus on the following fields, in particular:

· The Protection of Human Rights in Times of Disasters 

· International Disaster Law

· Protection of Displaced Persons in the Event of Disasters in light of Migration Law

· Freedom of Speech and Right to Information in Times of Natural Disasters

· Deprioritization of the Environment in Times of Natural Disasters

· Ownership and Right to Property

·  Insurance Law and Destruction of Disasters 

· Criminal Law and Regulations Necessary for Disasters

· Legal Aspects of Post-Disaster Management

· Health Law Regulations Especially on Natural Disaster Harms

· Responsibility Law of Disasters
