Description
The purpose of the course German for Public Administration in the first semester is to make students familiar with specific features of language for specific purposes as opposed to the language of general communication. As a preparation for the work on topics from the area of public administration the first semester themes include: the concept and structure of a state, legal system and different fields of law, constitutional values and principles of the Republic of Croatia and of the Federal Republic of Germany. Following those introductory themes the definitions of public administration and of administrative science and its development are discussed.

Besides working on single legal terms, collocations and multi-word expressions, students practice syntactical structures relevant for the understanding of academic texts and professional documents.
