Tamara Ćapeta is Jean Monnet Chair in European law at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law. She earned her Ph.D. degree from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law in 2001, and her LL.M. degree from the College of Europe, Bruges in 1993. In 2006 she was a post-doc Fulbright scholar at the University of Michigan Law School. She is author of several books and a number of articles in the field of EU law. She teaches several courses at the Unviersity at both graduate and postgraduate (doctoral) level, and participates in the education of judges and civil servants in the field of EU law. Her past work experience includes teaching at the Faculty of Economics (1997 – 2002), being research fellow at the Institute for International Relations (1994 – 1997), and working for the Ministry for External Affairs (1992 – 1994). Her curerent research interest relates to the judiciary in the EU, especially questions of judicial interpretation of law and legitimacy of courts, as well as constitutional aspects of European integration.

 

Tamara Ćapeta je redovni profesor i nositelj Jean Monnet katedre za europsko pravo na Pravnom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Školovala se na College of Europe, Brugge, Belgija (L.L.M.) i Pravnom fakultetu u Zagrebu (PhD). Bila je postodoktorski istraživač na University of Michigan Law School temeljem Fulbright stipendije, a usavršavala se i na Europskom sudu u Luksemburgu, u kabinetu nezavisnog odvjetnika Fennellyja i nezavisne odvjetnice Sharpston. Njen trenutačni istraživački interes obuhvaća sudski sustav u Europskoj uniji, posebice interpretativne ovlasti i legitimitet sudova te ustavne aspekte europske integracije. Uz predavanja na Sveučilištu u Zagrebu uključena je u obrazovanje sudaca, odvjetnika i službenika u državnoj upravi o pitanjima vezanim uz Europsku uniju.
