Jean Monnet Chair of European Public Law
Short-term Visiting Researcher Programme

Chair of European Public Law and Jean Monnet Programme are inviting young researchers to apply for a short-term research visit. Sucessful applicants will have access to research infrastructure and an opportunity to share academic experience of the Department.

Applicants have to be LL.M., doctoral students or post-doctoral professionals, and have to submitt a CV, a transcript, a research plan, a letter of motivation and two references. Applications have to be submitted at least 6 months before the intended visit. Basileus project funding is availible for this activity. Students and researchers from Western Balkans are encouraged to apply.

Barbara Havelkova, ph.d. candidate, Charles University Praha

Barbara Havelková Holds Mgr. and JUDr. degrees from Charles University in Prague Law School, is currently an LLM. candidate at Europa-Institut of Saarland University and a PhD. candidate in Prague. She is a former stagiaire at the Legal Service of the European Commission and in the Chambers of Advocate General Maduro at the European Court of Justice. She currently works as a research assistant at the Department of European Law at Saarland University (Prof. Stein), teaches an introductory course “Gender and Law” at the Charles University Faculty of Humanities and collaborates with various NGOs in the Czech Republic on monitoring and advocacy projects in the area of equality. Specialises in gender legal studies, equality issues in national and European law, and in labour law.

Daniel Glad, J.D. candidate, University of Michigan Law School

Daniel Glad studies towards a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. summa cum laude in political science from the University of Detroit-Mercy. During law school, Glad clerked in the chambers of the Hon. Dennis N. Powers and co-authored The SCRAM Tether Through the Eyes of Davis-Frye and Daubert, 85 Mich.   Bar J. 35 (2006). He served as both an Associate and Contributing Editor to the Michigan Journal of International Law, and attended classes on Central & Eastern European Law in Dubrovnik. Glad also interned in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins, LLP
